A relationship to rely on
AMS Hayley helps customers with support from Endress+Hauser
To service a large contract with the British multinational aerospace and defence company Rolls-Royce, industrial supply specialist AMS Hayley needs a ready supply of instrumentation. They also require a reliable partner they can work with to support their customers with a range of calibration and maintenance needs. They have developed a relationship with Endress+Hauser to effectively manage inventory levels and calibration cycles.

The challenge
Having a ready supply of instrumentation is crucial to AMS Hayley’s contract with Rolls-Royce. “Part of our agreement with our customer is to keep a lot of Endress+Hauser spares on the shelf that they’d had installed on a certain project,” explains Project Team Leader Daniel Spooner. AMS Hayley also has to respond to requests for laboratory calibration of flowmeters, often at short notice.
The solution
AMS Hayley keeps several hundred Endress+Hauser devices in stock at any one time, usually purchasing them online from endress.com. “As they’re logged on our system, the customer can see them from wherever they are in the world,” says Daniel Spooner. When they require calibration before being installed in the customer’s process, the instruments are sent to Endress+Hauser’s UKAS-accredited calibration facility in Manchester.
Timely calibration
“The customer is able to deal directly with Endress+Hauser to confirm which instruments require calibration. They’re aware that there is a lead time associated with it, but in urgent cases Endress+Hauser has been able to deliver in a timely manner,” confirms Daniel Spooner. When the newly calibrated devices are fitted, the old ones are returned to AMS Hayley for assessment and refurbishment, ready to be put back in stock for next year.
